New shoes always make such a big difference

I swear, I'll think "I haven't had these sneakers thaaat long, how could I need new ones already?" but meanwhile, my feet are starting to hurt and the shoes aren't as supportive and my running pace is lagging...
Though lately, I've just attributed the lagging pace to being 6 months pregnant with twins. :)
But I finally dragged myself out to get new shoes the other day, and I went running in them this morning...and the difference was huge! I mean, not earth-shattering. But my pace was definitely faster than it has been lately. Granted, I only had time to run for 45 minutes or so before work because I had to be in early today so I didn't have to pace myself so much, and I was feeling more out of breath than usual because of the faster pace, but the thing is - my feet and legs were actually able to do the faster pace in the new shoes! They wouldn't have been able to go as fast in the old shoes. I'm not trying to set any pace records here or anything because I know I'm supposed to take it a bit easier because of the babies, but it's still funny to me how much of a difference new shoes can make in your workout performance even though it doesn't feel like you're working any harder.
