Ready To Lose The Weight

So I've been going to the gym regularly for about a month now and all I've lost is about five pounds. That is not very much when I work out six days a week and spend almost two hours each session. That's why I decided to join this website, maybe with some friends and guidance I can pinpoint what I'm doing wrong.

My weight gain has been slow and steady over the past five years, five pounds here and there at the time. My hobbies have kept me on my butt and paired with lots of soda have really packed on the weight. I have about 60 lbs of weight I have to lose now and it's embarrassing for me to see myself as a size 14 when I was had been a 4 for years.

The picture above is me back when I was a size 4/6.

Oddly enough, when I was pregnant back in 2011, I lost weight. In fact, it was the best I had looked in years! Unlike a lot of mothers who think they eat whatever they want, I counted every nutrient and calorie I consumed. No soda, low salt, low to no sugar and when I was full term with my daughter, I had only gained 15 lbs! After she was born, I couldn't believe how thin I was and I was so proud of my weight. With nursing though, I doubled up my calories thinking it would help me produce more milk. I stopped nursing my daughter about two months ago and I'm even heavier than ever before.

I want to be a positive example for my daughter and my over-weight family. I have a lot to learn still but I'm confident that I can do it. We all have to start somewhere, right?

    Thank you for all your comments everyone!! Actually the closest thing I have tried yet to a protein shake is Carnation's Instant Breakfast No Added Sugar drink. I mix it with low fat Silk soy milk, I thought since it has so many nutrients it might be what I needed. Is there a particular type or brand of protein drink I should try out?

    I did a fast for 42 days twice and it helped me to lose weight and change my lifestyle. Check out it's a cleanse/fast that works, tweek it if needed. Good luck.

    It often takes weeks to see anything on the scale....focus on the measurements and don't weigh yourself. Your body is reconfiguring itself and building muscle that will eventually burn your fat at a higher rate than present.

    Also are you eating enough for the amount of exercise you are doing? Before you exercise ..carbs and after exercising refuel your glycogen tanks as well as have a protein shake or something with protein and good carbs.
