Dogs and their ability to motivate us
Tuesday, July 09, 2013
Oh, how I love my dogs! The three of them bring a bright spark to every day.
This is Skeeter, my helper and friend. He motivates me by sitting right beside me through every activity. No yoga routine is complete until I have rolled out of savasanasana
and petted him where he lay right beside my yoga mat. His tail wags and then he does down dog.
Even when riding my recumbent bike, he is right beside me. He is not as talkative as the other two, but his eyes say it all.
Sore muscles, no problem! Skeeter sits very closely and is an instant heating pad.
High Blood pressure lowers while petting our pooches!
Ever wonder if anyone is glad to see you when you get home, your dog is!
You may be wondering why I do not take walks with him. I do not walk as I once did, especially in the heat. Multiple Sclerosis is not kind in the heat.
BUT, Skeeter is like an MS meter! He tells me when I need to stop and rest. He also tells on me when I don't listen to my body and am headed for a physical shut down.
Dogs....LOVE EM! Skeeter....LOVE HIM!
