My first Half! I've officially registered . . .

Ran around my neighborhood tonight. I wasn't digging the hills so I zigged and zagged around the (flat) streets and ran up the smaller hills. I hit streets that I haven't covered by running in quite awhile, though I walk them every once in awhile. I sometimes wish I didn't live at one of the higher points in the area, though it's nice to know I'm not going to get flooded out very easily.

I ran out of time to log stuff with SparkPeople but I'm catching up right now (not too busy at work, though that might change at any point). I'm nearly done with my free SparkCoach session - I think I have to renew on the 9th - but I'm not sure I want to spend the extra $$ right now. I love the help that I've received so it's hard not just continuing on.

I've signed myself up for my first half marathon! I'm going to do the Double Half Mary on Saturday, September 7th. They actually have 2 Half Marathons that weekend - one on Saturday along the Oak Creek Trail in Valparaiso, NE and then 2nd on Sunday on the Homestead Trail in Roca, NE. Their medal is pretty cool - each half fits together to make a big round medal, otherwise it's a half medal for each day. I'd love to be able to have a full medal but I KNOW there is no way that I can do two half-marathons back to back. I wouldn't walk for a week!

    ONEKIDSMOM (Barb), from Lincoln, & I talked about the Double Mary! I have a cousin by marriage from Waverly who almost talked me into it BUT I have a Triathlon 2 weeks before and 2 5Ks on Sept 7! I hope to do the Double in 2014! Can't wait to hear all about it. You will do this!

    I am so jealous! You will do awesome! Congrats on your training and dedication. Keep it up. You have plenty of time to continue training. You may be able to get that whole medal, yet! emoticon
