Sunny Sunday...serendipitous appearance of Cypress vine complete with bright red flowers and Mom dressed in crisp white linen with vibrant red scarf and shoes...red just seems to be the color of the day as she drives away in her burgundy red Grand Prix on the way to Church.
I spent the morning tending animals...watering, feeding, turnout..and working fence into a more permanent configuration...that's going to take some time so I came in and had fruit salad and coffee for breakfast...and moved on to Queso and chips...not good but I do have a good bit of hot work ahead of me..lol.
Yesterday was great. I was expecting guests, a friend with a couple of exchange students. I worked to finish cleaning out the barn and got my pony ready to drive. My sister once told me...invite friends to dinner...it gives you incentive to clean. It does work.
While the girls were polite it was obvious like so many of our teens they kind of live in a glass mall bubble and heat, dirt and work are not really in their vocabulary. They stood aback and let me do all the work after being politely asked by my friend if they would help groom the pony. No matter...my ponies are my passion and this got me in gear to get a good bit of work done. They did seem to enjoy the ride and bantered a bit. Meanwhile my pony who is fiery but stands beautifully for enter and exit gave me a sweetly executed slow pleasure trot and was on his best behavior.
Today I continued my clean up. The synthetic harness washes beautifully in the big barn washing machine when set on delicates...lol. I handwash the bridles and cruppers.
Ponies are turned out and I am working fence around the barn arena and the catch pen for lambs. I sold another Fall ram lamb last week and have some potential clients coming out in the next week.
