Whole 30 Plans

While our Independence Day BBQ was a blast, I am so happy that the holiday is over! I haven't exactly mastered the ability to stick to a plan with holiday eating yet so it was a disaster. I am feeling great just knowing I won't have to deal with another big holiday until Halloween or Thanksgiving! ha.

So anyway, I have been looking into starting whole 30 now for a couple months. I have actually gone almost all Paleo- cutting out most breads, junk food, and sugary drinks. My goal is to eventually get rid of all food dyes, preservatives, sugars, etc from my lifestyle and also go gluten free.

I do have a few medical issues too that I would love to bid farewell to as well. Obesity. Sleep Apnea. Asthma. IBS. Fatigue. Allergies. Vitamin Deficiencies. Infertility. Depression. Anxiety.....and whatever else I can't think of at the moment. Some days I just feel like a walking train wreck!

I'm not sure when will be day 1 yet as I want to be a little more prepared but it will be in the very near future. Especially since I just started seeing a wellness based chiropractor and I have been doing electrotherapy for my neck as well as adjustments. There is also quite a bit of work to be done to get my spine and neck back to being curved the correct way--losing weight or even inches would help in a huge way.

So pretty much my plan for the weekend is to come up with a plan. lol.

    I've been interested in the Whole 30 eating plan for a while. I know I consume way to many fake things, even when I try to avoid them. My struggle is to avoid the fake and add back the real but watch portions. Good luck!

    Hey! I'm here to support you too! I've got a ton of health issues myself, so I'm assuming that's why my whole...45 (I think?) has not handled that stuff yet.
    Ive got IBS, depression, a rare debitating disease, gluten intolerance, other food and environmentsl allergies, and my docs STILL believe i have another condition that no one has been able to figure out yet (nice!). Hey, we should compare notes sometime (kidding!!!)
    Perhaps the more issues we have the longer it takes to have our bodies successfully heal itself ? : )
    I am hopeful for myself and rooting for you!
    Of course, you have probably been eating mostly paleo much longer than I have been on my challenge, so perhaps I should be asking you for recipes!

    Either way, I'm with you, glad the red white and blue chemical dyed sugar filled treats are not around the stores anymore!

    Having a plan is an excellent idea. I've done two Whole30's. The first pretty much blind and the second more prepared. Ironically the first was my spot on zero cheats 100% version.

    I did subscribe to the website/blog and read anything and everything I could get my hands on and I did already have a pretty much stocked foodie kitchen which was a huge help. Time is a huge consideration as well. The cook ups and prep are a big factor so you head into the week READY.

    If you have ?'s, there is a great board here on Spark and feel free to shoot me ?'s anytime too. There is an absolute plethora of info on the web and I now have over 20 Paleo cookbooks! :)

    You can do this and you will love how you feel!
