Why Do I Blog? Here's Another Reason!

2013-07-05 (Last Update 2013-07-05, v3)

You may remember my earlier blogs, in which I said:

* I am skeptical of everyone's alleged motives, including my own.
* I blog primarily for myself, as a way of holding myself accountable.

One reason for skepticism (WRT blogs or anything else) is that our knowledge (to use a euphemism) is seldom "perfect", or even adequate.

Morticia Addams made that clear to me in her response to my last (July 3, 2013) blog.

I blog, in part, to provoke thought, motivation and energy from my readers. For me, motivation IS NOT a bunch of "attaboys". It's the proof that I helped somebody think, or progress.

Now, Morticia accused herself of being "b*****". I would never do that! I accuse her of being articulate, entertaining, to the point, intelligent, satirical, genuine, thoughtful, provocative, and not suffering fools gladly. If there is one thing (were it only ONE thing! ;-)), I find annoying, it's the "Stepford Wives approach" to nutrition, fitness and wellness.

I think Morticia's comment is deserving of a read, and she should "republish" as her own blog entry.

Thanks, Mort!

I sometimes think I should get back to blogging again too. My life has been so chaotic the last two years that I kind of lost myself in the rubble. I'm now trying to find a new direction for myself and it helps to see people like you whose direction is forward regardless of what you have to deal with. You don't make excuses and you succeed no matter what. I need that too and used to always be that way. My latest health problems have me realizing that I have to get things right STAT. At my age, I can't afford to fibrillate like other people. I don't want to write a hundred blogs stating "I'm starting again." What are your plans for maintenance? Just wondering.

I blog, I think, partly to make connections with others of like mind about issues. When I look back most of my SFs, )apart from those friended in the interests of unity on a team I help lead), have come to me through responses to blogs.

You know, I was wondering why blog, myself. I blog, usually, because I like to share information. I try to be genuine with what I share. Why do you blog? You enjoy getting a rise out of people---negative or positive as long as it is a response to your blogs.
