Thought and Prayer for Friday, July 5, 2013

Our freedom of choice allows us gives us lots of opportunities that many do not have. However, everyone can choose to be obedient to God. In fact, obedience to God should be number one on our list. We should obey God in all things. Not just in certain things we do or certain times of the day. And not just when we need something from Him. God is with us all the time and He will never stop being with us. He expects us to be obedient to Him in all we do.

Deuteronomy 31:8 “Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, thank You for being with us today and every day. Help us to know Your will and to obey You.
We know You will never leave us. We know You want what is best for us. We know You will never lead us down the wrong path. Help us to be obedient to You in all things, in all situations, at all times. There will be hard times but when we continue to obey You, we know You will help us through them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

We have choices to make in life and when we seek God in those choices, we will be able to make the best choices.

Knowing God’s will can help us when we have to make a hard decision or have a difficult conversation with someone.

Seeking God before anything else will help us be obedient in difficult times.

When we train our minds with God’s word, the answers to even the hardest situations will be easier.

God knows what we need and being obedient to Him will help us have peace in the midst of turmoil.

Hebrews 5:8 “Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered.” (NLT)
