It's Independence Day

Thursday, July 04, 2013

Today is Independence Day and to celebrate our Nation's Birthday and Freedom, I am freeing myself from the same battle I have faced for years; my weight loss. I have tried and failed several times to become the person I want to be on the outside to match who I am on the inside. I will go to the picnic today, probably eat more than I should and know that tomorrow is the start of my new life. I am not going to guilt myself about it. I am going to enjoy myself and know that tomorrow things change. The fireworks tonight at dusk are my moment. My moment of freedom, my moment to shine, my moment to become who I have been all along, my moment to go after my happily ever after!
Happy 4th of July!

What a lovely tribute to freedom--freeing yourself from the slavery of being unhealthy.

    Good for you!!

I share your love and passion for this great holiday, my favorite. In watching the mini series The Revolutionary War on the Military channel, I was astounded to hear once again what our freedom fighters went through. Toward the end of the campaign, Washington gave up on trying to take back NY and he and his army marched virtually non stop 400 miles to the south to Virginia. Amazing.

Loved your blog! I was concerned too, how I am going to get through the day trying not to overeat. I will have a taste of the things that I want, and realize that I will start back tomorrow. Have a wonderful day!
