A few lessons in life.

Hi Everyone from beautiful Colorado! Hope you are all planning a very special 4th of July, and take time to enjoy your family and our precious freedoms here in America.
I have hesitated blogging until now. Then after reading some of the blogs on Spark People.... and using some of their knowledge, I changed my mind. Writing is such therapy anyway!
As a grandma you would think that I would have everything together and sharing that knowledge with everyone. But like you, I have my ups and downs, and big learning experiences. We are all God's work in progress. So it is nice to have a great arena to bounce ideas off of, encourage and learn from like we do here.
Here is a few things I have finally realized in the last few months, and am trying with God's help to change.
1. I can't fix everything! Although I can love, and encourage and be a sounding board, there are some things that my family, friends or co-workers will need to do for themselves.
2. I am not suppose to handle some things. Have you tried and tried to do something? Like help a wayward family member "change" for the better. Only to discover they have not gotten better... Well it is not on your "TO DO" list. Give it to God!
3. Worrying about something that may or may not happen, or worry in general is one of the worst things for your health! Most of my extra weight came from stress eating! Not to mention lack of sleep, indigestion etc.
So, trying to let the above go, and start on my journey of health for my retirement years. I am so glad I have found Spark People and this great community. I really am going to enjoy sharing with everyone
