Break Time

Tuesday, July 02, 2013

So, my boss is making more work for me today. I've decided to take a sanity break and come on here and vent and update...

In the bummer category:
So, I blogged on June 13 that we had sent in our adoption application paperwork. Well, last Friday we got it back with a lovely yellow label from the post office that it had an "insufficient address" REALLY?! It took them over 2 weeks to decide it wasn't sufficient. I'd even spoken with the one social worker about something else and mentioned we'd mailed it so she offered to follow up on it for us. Now I'm the fool since it wasn't there. It will hopefully show up there any day now, though.
The (medical) clinic the kids go to is being a pain about filling out the medical forms we need for the kids for the adoption. Apparently you can't just give it to your pediatrician...No, they've got a procedure that defies efficiency at every turn.
Finally, my legs are sore like I have shin splints coming on. I have a race Saturday. I took today off from running in the hope that they'll heal quickly and be okay by the weekend.

In the thumbs up category:
We've had such a great summer, especially now with the girls done with session 1 of summer school. Now I can see them all day and enjoy our time.
This morning we all (minus DH) went for a bike ride together and the weather was perfect!
I ran a sub :30 5K this past weekend and felt REALLY good about it...though it may have contributed to the near shin splints.
God is working all things together for my good. DH and I already decided God had some purpose in the address being messed up on our application materials. I don't know what it is, but knowing that God know brings a tremendous sense of comfort.
