Day 8 of the Spark Solution

Slept 9 hours. Breakfast was an English muffin with ricotta and all-fruit. Yummy. Mowed for 90 minutes and weeded for 15 more. Lunch was the Trim Taco Salad. Not bad. I think I got too much lime in it, because my lime was pretty large. I obviously did something wrong with my corn tortilla, as it was tough as shoe leather rather than crispy. I’d still try it again. My son’s sports practice was cancelled this week due to the holiday, so we walked a 5k together this afternoon. Dinner was an extremely bland Alfredo Pasta with Broccoli. I even doubled the amount of garlic the recipe called for, but couldn’t taste it at all. It wasn’t bad, it just had no flavor. After dinner, hubby and I did our mile walk around the neighborhood.

I’m being very particular about sticking strictly to the food plan, which I have been criticized for. But if I change it up, how will I know if results, or the lack of, are because of the Spark Solution, or because of the changes I made? So for the full 14 days, I’m sticking to the book. Then I will start varying things up a bit according to what I like and what I can work into our budget. I’ll definitely make sure that I don’t end up with all these bits and pieces of left-over ingredients. That really adds up to a lot of money going in the trash because it goes bad before it gets used. I do not have the luxury of a large freezer, so freezing things is not an option.

My weight this morning was exactly 4 lbs lower than last Monday when I started. I am not too overly excited about this. I have always been good about tracking, the good, the bad, and the ugly. My sodium count was super high the 2 weeks prior to starting the Spark Solution, so I think most of what I lost was water weight. Next week will tell me if I have actually lost any fat or not. I know my body, and 4 lbs is what I always gain or lose when I have been retaining water.

I am happy that my family is eating healthier, and not complaining about it, other than they miss going out to eat. We do that way too often for entertainment purposes. My son actually asked if he could have an apple with his turkey sandwich for lunch, which he made on a low fat tortilla, his choice. That made my day.
