My Beloved JACK is doing GREAT !
Although it did take him about 6 weeks to get over his surgery
Therefore, the first couple of weeks after my retina surgery was pretty rough for both of us.
But even while recovering himself, Jack was and has been a TERRIFIC NURSE!
emoticon Wonderful Hubby !

MATT also helped a LOT with meals, medicines, etc
He still doesn’t have a full time job, but THANKFULLY is still doing sporadic sports reporting for the AP
emoticon Terrific Son !

My vision is SLOWLY but SURELY improving.
I am down to just one of the 3 prescription drops twice a day.
I still get nauseous while trying to see much – reading, tv, computer.
I am susceptible to motion sickness and looking out a good eye and a blurry one together gives me that same yucky feeling.
But, hey, I THANK GOD that I am NOT totally Blind !

Since I have not been able to do anything except sleep and eat, Eat, EAT !
Lord knows how many pounds I have GAINED! My clothes are telling me it is AT LEAST 10 POUNDS!

3 Weeks ago, Jack’s dear mother Marie took a turn for the worse. The the last 2 weeks she has not been able to get out of bed. Jack’s dad Oscar and Jack’s brother Rick FINALLY convinced Oscar to let nurses come in – AGAIN ! (Last year when they initially got help, Marie wouldn’t let them touch her, so they stopped after 2 visits.) This time though they announced that it is time for HOSPICE.
She is no longer taking food and today (Saturday) just a sup of water.
Friday morning the nurse said that she will not last much longer.
Her birthday last month was her 87th.

Jack’s dad Oscar has not been doing well either. All month Jack has been taking him to a doctor at least 3 TIMES A WEEK!
Finally Friday afternoon, Oscar was diagnosed with MULTIPLE MYELOMA! It is a blood cancer that begins in plasma cells. After the 4th, Jack willl take him to check about treatments. Jack is worried that Oscar will refuse all treatment so he can join Marie in heaven sooner.
His birthday in March was his 91st.

Dad has had a few bad days lately. Between Jack and my surgeries, our not visiting for almost a month messed him up. But since I went the last 2 weeks, he is doing better.

My older brother who still lives in Tennessee, has not been to see Dad all month. He has been sick for 6 weeks, waiting to go to the doctor until he had pneumonia. I want to save $$$ and get him that electronic cigarette stuff for Christmas.
He has emphysema and asthma.
