I won't let my sister pull me down!

Saturday, June 29, 2013

OK so if you've been following me at all, you know my cousin's wedding is today. It's a good hour's drive away so my (huge) family of 5 will ride together--that's my mom, sister, BIL, niece & me. Part of my mom & me would like for us to drive separately, but then I wouldn't be able to have a drink.
Anyway, the biggest car, aka The Old Man Mobile since it was my father's station wagon, will comfortable hold all of us but it has n air conditioning and it's supposed to be really hot today.
So they're thinking of driving their other car. My mom said that we won't be as crowded any more since I've lost weight...she told me that my sister said
Well she hasn't lost THAT much!
Nice, huh?
But that's her problem, not mine.

Sorry your sister said such hurtful comments, but remember that family dynamics get extreme at 'get-together' times. I know what has worked for me in the past (I have a older sibling that is overweight worse than myself, but is jealous I'm losing by working on it. She's supposedly happy where she's at, but I keep reminding myself, that IF she were truly happy at her weight, mine wouldn't be an issue for her.

Try to find compliments for her and your niece when you get together, to set the mood, like how pretty they both are. Even if it's hard, it will hopefully set the mood so she might too, be complimentary, rather than hurtful.

And remember to enjoy the day for the wedding couple, that's the reason for the day~

Somebody sounds a little jealous if they think nearly 40lbs isn't "THAT much"! :O That much.. phhht! It's incredible! I hope you have fun at the wedding, and don't let others get you down :) Congratulations on your success so far! I looked on your spark page, and you're getting close to the goal you set. Way to go!
