Mammo'd & slammo'd 2

Saturday, June 29, 2013

Oh boy! I have had many, many mammograms over the last 2 years. Yesterday was the most uncomfortable I have ever been. I did all the things my doctor recommends: Schedule your mammogram within 5 days of finishing your cycle & take a some Iboprofen, Motrin, or Advil 1 hour before your scheduled appointment time -- generally, it works like a charm but I think I just had an overzealous mammo tech. Don't get me wrong, she was so very sweet & kind & I know she was just doing her job, but man oh man!!

Most of the techs will let you tell them when the machine is tight enough to be uncomfortable & she did this, but just as she would run to hit the "go" button, she'd crank the machine just a little tighter. Yowza!!! She kept saying "don't breathe!!" No worries honey, I wasn't breathing anyway because I think my lung was up in there, too. emoticon

This is the most sore I've been even after all the mammograms I've had. But, in the scheme of things, it was all worth it when the radiologist came to tell me I have the "ALL CLEAR!!" emoticon I wasn't really expecting any surprises because my blood work came back clear 2 months ago, but it's nice to to hear that you're good to go for another 6 months. I am fortunate that as a survivor, I get the results right away. Yay!!

So, I'm gonna strap "the girls" in tight this morning & go to the gym. Might not do a lot of jumping today. emoticon

I'll diligently go back in December for my next mammogram. It's all about saving the Masterpieces, right? emoticon

Blessings to you!! emoticon emoticon
