Finally! Friday! The afternoon storm hit just as I was turning the corner onto my street - Poured down, and then just rained gently for a while.
I ordered pizza for dinner. This time from Papa Johns - first time I've ever had their pizza. I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was it better than the other delivery place, but it was quite filling! I ordered two medium pizzas and if I eat what I want, I eat at lease 3/4 of the pie. I know - way too many calories, but even with lots of green peppers and mushrooms, good pizza is not "diet food." Since I don't get it very often, I allow myself an indulgence. And this was very, very good, but I could only eat 1/2. Woohoo!
Tonight I finished ordering my organic seeds for my Fall/Winter garden. My past experience with gardening has always proved to be better over the Fall and Winter seasons, into early Spring. Tomorrow I have to check out the farm and garden store for some organic seed starting medium. I have to start many of the seeds in July and August to be able to plant them in the garden in September and October. Even though some of these vegetables can be sown directly in the garden, they have a much better chance if they are planted as weeks-old plants.
And if you ever wonder why organically grown vegetables are so expensive, price non-GMO, organic vegetable seeds! You have to be very careful buying organically grown produce - a lot of it is organically grown from non-organic seeds that are treated with fungicide to prevent "dampening off" - a fungus disease that destroys seedlings. Yes - I could save a bundle buying seeds from Lowes and Home Depo, using Miracle Grow and spraying everything with insecticide, but to what end? I could very well wind up with poisonous, cancer-causing "Frankenveggies!"
On that happy thought, I decided to take a nice, warm whirlpool bath and plan my day tomorrow. We're supposed to get more rain, both Saturday and Sunday, and most likely in the afternoon, so anything I accomplish must be done in the morning. Guess I'd better hit the sack!
