It's Friday!!!

Yesterday Elijah woke up before 6am and didn't go to sleep until after 10:30 last night. We had to call maintenance last night around 8:30 because our ac/heat doesn't work. Fabulous. If you had it on the ac setting and turned it down nothing happened. If you had it on the heat setting and turned it all the way up you got nothing. Completely broke. It turns out that the one part stopped working because of the moisture from upstairs. The guy spent an hour trying to get it to work and the two parts he tried were too big. So we got a window unit for the night and when he asked where we wanted it mom said that it should go in my room since my room gets the hottest. Mom also said that Elijah should sleep with me. I have a twin size bed and I'm not fond of sharing it with somebody who wiggles in his sleep and takes up most of my bed. I put in my application to Hobby Lobby yesterday. I had filled out the application on Wednesday while Elijah was in the bath. I was planning on going yesterday if Elijah got up early enough so we wouldn't have to walk in the heat since it was going to be upper 90s. It turns out he was up before 6am and we got our showers at 8:30 and we left around 9. All I had to do to my application was put yesterdays date on it. I was nervous about walking over to Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby is right across the street from us and the street is usually busy. After waiting 5 minutes for the light change I decided that since it's not going to change then we will cross when there's a gap in the traffic. Worked out kinda nicely. To my surprise Elijah held my hand the whole time and didn't run away from me. That was my biggest fear that he would run into traffic. I handed my application in and then Elijah and I looked around for a while and then as promised I took him to the truck stop since he was a good boy. I didn't put him in a buggy at Hobby Lobby. Then after being home for a while Elijah sticks an eye dropper in his ear. The same ear he stuck a lollipop stick in so I had to call mom and she came to pick us up and we went to the ER yesterday. He scratched his ear canal but didn't hurt his ear drum like last time. There was a big chunk of ear wax in his ear that came out when the nurse flushed his ear. Gross. So now he has ear drops to be put in his left ear 3 times a day. I am hoping that maintenance comes soon before it gets too hot. It's almost 9 and Elijah is still sleeping. I am enjoying the peace and quiet very much. Tomorrow we are taking Elijah to the fire station to have a tour and to learn what goes on there and to see how every thing works out. When we left the ER last night Elijah talked to the sheriff and got to see the car he drives and all of the things he has on his belt. Elijah asked a million questions and the sheriff patiently answered all of them and was nice when he talked to Elijah. Elijah got to see the light and hear the siren and see where the bad guys go in the car. Can't wait to see him at the fire station tomorrow. I am thinking about going to the park tomorrow morning and running a few laps around the baseball field. If the weather doesn't coorperate I'll go to the fitness center.

During the week it's not so hectic since we stay home while my mom is at work. Thanks for your prayers for a job at Hobby Lobby.

Wow!!! You are one busy lady. I remember those days--I was a single parent of two. They are now adults and I miss the times that you are describing. It was so hard and at times I didn't know how I would make it, but God always provided and now I am a proud grandmother of two.

I hope the AC gets repaired soon. I had that experience a few years ago--not fun. I said a prayer for you on the job application at Hobby Lobby. If that doesn't come through, God has something else in store for you.

    Have a wonderful weekend!!!!
