Deep Breaths

Today was the last day of school.

It's not as exciting when you're a teacher, but it's still pretty great. Given my more recent emotional state, I feel like today was a good day all around and worth a recap since I've been so whiny here on SP.

1.) It was my weigh day, which was steady - I didn't gain or lose. I wholly expected it having lost 7 lbs in the past two weeks, so it's nice to know I'm still doing things well. Then I put on a two years old pair of jeans (size 14) that are now big enough that I can put them on without using the fly. I know I was too big for a size 16 when I started this, so I've lost at least 2 pants sizes!

2.) I've been craving pizza a lot lately, so I planned my day around enjoying two slices for dinner. It worked beautifully. I'm full, satisfied, and well within my calorie range. I even remember to take the "gluten cutter" to aid in the not-so-friendly parts of digestion.

3.) Since it was the last day of school I put in 90 minutes at the gym this afternoon. 55 minutes sweating out interval work on the elliptical and another 35 strength training. I felt super good and positive, even on my way out of the gym. I love those days.

4.) The last day of school also requires a lot of clean up - packing things away, storing boxes, dusting, etc... Today I conquered lifting things people were shocked to see me do. In fact someone said they'd call the janitor and I took care of it instead. The best was when I needed to put a box of books on a top shelf, which usually is not easy for me, but was a piece of cake because I have been doing shoulder presses. I'm really beginning to appreciate what ST is doing for me.

Now that school is over I have a completely different job that moves really fast, but is less hours. As a result I am aiming to diversify my food and cooking skills as well as try an exercise class. I'd like to at least try a spin class and now that I have a more flexible schedule it should be attainable.

Oh, I also plan on getting an awesome tan... emoticon

    What a wonderful list of accomplishments!!! Kudos on working your way out of those 14's. It sounds like you got a really good workout in at the gym too. And way to go for the heavy lifting. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
