Day 3 is off to an early start!

I woke up at 4:44. I think it was a sign. Too bad I forgot to make a wish. My son and daughter like to make a wish on double digit times. 1.5 hours later I am still up. I know I will pay for this later today! Today marks day 3 of the Atkins way and my re-spark to the spark. So far so good. I am pleasantly surprised that I am drinking 128 ounces of water! Seems like I need to tweak my calories a bit but otherwise all is good. Paige is doing ok with her new diet. I am trying to get the extra fat into her whenever I can. It is the fay intake that makes the difference for her. My research shows that the first month is very important to have high levels of fat. Last night when she was taking her nighttime meds I let her take it with diet dr. pepper ( I know, I know!) and I added a tablespoon of olive oil to her cup. The oil floated on top and she was laughing at how I was trying to "sneak" the extra fat. She was a trooper and drank it all!!!!!

    I agree with WOUBBIE - try to incorporate coconut oil into as many things as you can. And you're right about the fats. I can't remember the source, but there's a website promoting the Fat Fast that Atkins mentions. It's full of recipes with high fat content. It looks like pretty good stuff! I'm sure it will Googleâ„¢. There's a lot of research out there these days about the benefits of a ketogenic diet for epilepsy. You're definitely on the right track.

    What a great situation, that your whole family is on "the plan." Makes it so much easier to manage! I'm sorry for the necessity... but I believe all of you will find your health much improved.

    Yeah for you! I too follow the Atkins program and it has been a wonderful experience. First few days were rather rough - but today is day 26 - and I'm still doing induction - cause, well, frankly, I enjoy it and I don't feel as if I'm missing anything. I lost 12.4 pounds the first week, and a total of 18 pounds in the first 3 weeks. I know the program works. . . I am living proof! And like you - I add "fat" every chance I get. .. cause it makes all the difference! I wish you well and much continued success. emoticon
