6.26.13 Notes

- Weather was crazy yesterday in my neighborhood! Tons of trees went down! Luckily the power was only out for an hour and a half or so.

- Went to the Y tonight. Instead of lifting weights, I just did cardio for 70 minutes. While I can tell that eating well and the weights and cardio are paying off, as my body shape is changing, I would really like to see some results on the scale for nothing else than motivational purposes. It is nice that my pants fit better as well as my shirts. I know I'm making progress, but it would be gratifying to see it reflect in a numerical way.

- In an effort to try to spur on the scale in a downward way, without starving myself, I made some spinach tortellini and mixed in a can of chickpeas, diced tomatoes and some more spinach. Hit it with some garlic, pepper and a touch of salt. I must say, I am quite happy with the results. Fresh spinach would have been optimal, but not only was a cup (literally) of the stuff tasty, but really filling and packed with good stuff. By my best calculations, the meal wasn't more than 350 calories, which I appreciate... and I doubt the whole pot of food cost more than $5, which is awesome. There are probably 3 more bowls left, at least! I will be making this again for sure!
