Feeling it today, but it's not too bad.

Tuesday, June 25, 2013

I'm feeling yesterday's run, but it's not too bad. I actually feel my IT band more when I sit for a while and try to get up. It feels tight. I've been doing lots of stretching. I'm going to try and run again tomorrow and then take the next few days off to get rested up/recovered for my 10K on Sunday. (As recommended by a marathon runner.)

I'm pretty tired tonight and I really think I just need to take a night to rest and recoup. Who said that? emoticon

I hope everyone is doing well.

This may sound strange. But after your next run stretch extra well, but then keep those upper legs warm.

Here's the strange part. Have a family member grab your kitchen rolling pin and use it on your legs. They can use angles to flatten certain muscles, and then go inline to stretch them.

I know its odd, but it really helps to have someone else do it.

That stretching does help - just keep it up. Have fun with your 10k - hope you are satisfied with your results when it's all over. Take care!

Now you are forced to rest! You'll be ready for the race! Imagine the energy you will have!
I'm glad you will take care of yourself once the race is done. Don't worry, there will be plenty of things you can do to replace the running until you are healed!

Don't feel alone - I'm still feeling yesterday's strength-training in my legs every time I go to sit down. But, it feels like a good soreness. emoticon

I would think just sore and/or stiff is ok. Just keep taking it EASY. You are healing up but you don't want to push to hard and end up worse than when you started.
