Going With the Flow

emoticon know that I've been swimming.....a lot.....because I really, really enjoy it and its so wonderful to be out in the heat but not feel like I'm out in the heat. This morning, I realized with my husband's help that I had no car to drive today, (in the shop), so I drove my daughter to work and kept her car so that I could go to the doctor's for a follow-up visit.

emoticon I decided to get my laps in early before taking my girl to work. I never usually swim early in the morning, but it was very pleasant. The morning was a bit stressful though, trying to squeeze in what I needed and leave by 9:20am to go to Ocean City, MD which is where my daughter works for the summer. But we did it and she was on time for work! emoticon

I drove to the doctor's office and waited and waited and waited. BUT I brought a great book with me that actually has inspiring Bible scriptures that I really enjoyed reading. Finally, my doctor came in and she had this BIG SMILE on her face. "Did you know that you are 11 pounds lighter than your last visit?! And you were here 3 weeks ago! You must tell me what you have been doing! I want to document this." I told her that I'd been swimming everyday except Sundays. I told her about swimming laps and using my diving toys to keep count. I told her about tracking my food on Spark People and that I was controlling my portions AND eating MORE emoticon emoticon freggies. She also shared with me the results of my blood test~ everything checks out healthy! I am slightly low in iron so I will need to take a supplement, but that has been ongoing my adult life.

I left the office with a joyful, grateful heart and I have another follow-up in 4 weeks. SO, I'm quite motivated to stay the course and shave off some more excess weight. emoticon

    I also have low iron levels all my life although I eat lots of green vegs. One way to improve my iron levels is so take Vit C tablets every day as it is improving the absorption of iron from other foods. I am so glad that you have these positive test results. Whoo hoo. It beats a reading on the scale every time. Congrats with your healthy life style. Be blessed!
