Mini-milestone goals

I've been juicing at least one meal a day for the last three weeks, and I'm seeing quite a bit of success -- down about 13 pounds in the last month! My energy level is up, I've been working out more consistently, eating more whole foods, and doing better at staying away from the junk.

I leave for San Diego next Saturday for a work conference that I'm extending into a vacation, and I'm super-excited! Never been to California before... With about 6 weeks to go before my trip, I decided I wanted to get down to 245 pounds (from 260), and I'm getting close to my goal! Although I "officially" weigh-in on Fridays, I had seen a 1.2 pound gain last week and needed some motivation this morning, so I stepped on the scale for a spot-check -- and I was down to 248.8!

I like the idea of these mini-milestone goals, so I've decided to set a few more!

First day of school (by Friday, Aug. 30) -- 230 pounds
First day of hockey season (by Friday, Oct. 11) -- 220 pounds
Thanksgiving (by Friday, Nov. 29) -- 210 pounds
New Year's Day (by Friday, Jan. 3) -- 199 pounds - Onederland!!

My overall goal is to get to 150 pounds, which will put me at the upper end of the "normal weight" range. For now, I'm looking forward to getting out of the "morbidly obese" category into just plain "obese (Class 2)," which I'll hit at 240 pounds. At 210, I'll be in the "obese (Class 1)" category, and at 180 (my approximate weight in high school and college), I'll be simply "overweight."
