There's Always Tomorrow

Monday, June 24, 2013

It was definitely a Monday. A certain group of people will not take accountability for their own actions so they blame others. My department is guilty until proven innocent. So I left work a little late producing documentation to prove them wrong.

The weather was nice driving home, sunny and humid but I decided to go running since I still have not run in hot weather yet this season. It would be a great way to release my frustrations! No clean running pants, bummer. Okay, put the shorts on, its warm and humid after all. Who cares what I look like. So unlike me!

I walked out the door while setting up the MapMyRun app and noticed it was suddenly dark. I looked up, lightening, large, dark clouds. Okay, back inside. As soon as I shut the door, BAM, big thunder and driving rain. If I had left work on time, I would have been out in that! Phew!

Okay, plan B. I got the SP 28 Day bootcamp 30-minute total body challenge set up to go after I finished 15 min on the elliptical. Five minutes into it, the power blipped out. Internet, phone and cable out for a few minutes.

Then work paged me. Yikes, no Internet. I called a co-worker to take care of the call for me. The Internet came back but my work applications, not so much! I spent three hours working with my network staff trying to help me and also trying to figure things out on my own. Nothing! I was missing the Blackhawks game. Grrrr!

I finally heard from my director that I'm not the only one with this issue. They are trying to figure out what happened. So I finally sat down for the last five minutes of the Blackhawks game... Whooohooo! Blackhawks are the Stanley Cup champions! Sorry Boston friends!

So my workout plans were squashed BUT I did not get caught in an unexpected, horrible storm AND I got to see the best part of the hockey game.

I was quite the grump all day and this evening so I kept repeating in my head a line I read once... "You did not have a bad day. You had a few bad moments that you held onto all day."

Tomorrow is another day.

Spark on!

It sounded like a Monday! When I worked I hated Mondays. When I worked Critical Care at the hospital and cut back my hours every day I worked seemed like a Monday! I couldn't stand my job and so it led me to the Home Health department to lighten my load. Way to shake it off Kelli emoticon !

I signed up for the MapMyRun app you use. Earlier I signed up for the BeatRun app but I can't figure out how to use it and I keep getting notices that I can't use my songs from iTunes for some reason. I was very frustrated and haven't tried using it again. Do don't be surprise if you don't get some e-mails from me asking for help. I am not savvy about these things at all!

Hey, I don't always know the why in it all, but it seems to me that everything happens for a reason! You being held up at work allowed you to avoid being struck by lightening! So, work hassles saved your life, right? I like that quote! When workr depends on the Internet all kinds of problems can happen! I know. Congrats on your hockey team winning! Glad you caught the good parts of the game!

I had the same storm pass through. If I hadn't been dragging my feet, I would have been on the treadmill when the power went out. Instead, I went to bed, because I had a lousy day yesterday too.

I'm positive that today will be a much better day for both of us! emoticon

Hope you have a better day today. It sounds like a rough time at work. Good for you staying positive even while your exercise plans were thwarted! Also using alternatives and not giving up showed strength!

I love the quote. So much time is getting wasted at office just TP proof that allegations are not true. It is so silly, the whole thing.

You are right, tomorrow is another day! I am glad that you have not been running in that storm.

Cheer up. I truly believe things happen for a reason, even if we don't understand it at the time. Let the grumpiness pass. Tomorrow is another day. Have a good one and go for that run. emoticon
