Busy weekend!

Friday night we visited our local City Market event, which is a farmer's market/crafters market/foodie paradise. There's musical entertainment, and it's done a lot to revitalize our modest downtown. It was hot, so we didn't stay too long. Had some frozen yogurt & a Limearita. Yum. Oh yeah, two steak tacos too. OMG, they are soooo delicious, gluten be darned.

Saturday was class, my first 31 party, and then a zumbathon to benefit a small city fire department about 30 miles from us. Not a big crowd, but it sure was fun! There were of course firemen on hand, and 3 of them weer dancing to most of the songs, one REALLY getting into it. Two opted to go shirtless all night long. emoticon Of course I have proof for you, cuz i'm considerate that way:

Not nearly as exciting:

We got to ride to the stage in the fire truck! That was uber exciting to my inner child.

Me & my Zumba mentor-turned-BFF

....And after the event there was a beer garden. emoticon I opted for hard cider, which lead to nachos, and um.....led to me overindulging in one of those just a tad (for once, it wasn't the food! lol) so yeah. I won't lie, it felt good to let loose a little bit. BFFs hubby drove, so no worries there.

Yesterday we went to a State Park about an hour from us, and wow. We walked. And walked. And walked. My calves are aching today from all the walking! And stairs. See how high we are here?

Yeah, we walked up STAIRS to get there.

And then back DOWN to get to the bottom of the waterfall:

And lots of stairs in between. We were up, we were down, we were back up, then back down. Yowza. It was fun though, and I'm not sure why I've never made the trip there before. It's really quite beautiful.

I guess overall yesterday wasn't so bad, I did have half a Jimmy Johns veggie sandwich (hello again, gluten) chips, and fudge. Mmmm. Fudge.....

But i'm just annoyed with myself yet again for letting things get sloppy on the food front. I'm really not sure WHAT it will take to get my butt in gear for real. My arms are noticeable bigger right now than they were last year. I'm NOT ok with that. I have a tendency to accumulate extra weight there when I get around the 160 mark and up. At 140 I felt pretty good about them. I'll settle for the 145 area, but getting there will NOT happen if I keep going down this path.

So today is a new day. 66 days til vacation. It's now or never, really, as we're down to the 2 month mark (aka "not long enough for a total transformation but ample time to make marked improvement")

    Loved the blog!

We are getting a city market here too that sounds a lot like yours. We are all excited about it.

I love steak tacos and nachos!!

Send more pictures of naked firemen. LOL. I like to view such things to be patriotic. Ahem. emoticon

    The state park was beautiful!!!

Sometimes, letting go a little is what we need and SO much fun! I really think you "made up for it" by all the walking you did the next day. (Not that I think you have to make up for anything.)

However, I also understand that if your arms are a little bigger than they were and that you want to be more dedicated to you and your health journey. You are worth it!!

So pick ten minutes and do some push ups and triceps dips. Pick another 10 minutes and go on a brisk walk. Pick 10 more minutes and jump rope, do ab work or dance like the fireman! This along with your Zumba and you will be on your way! emoticon

Looks like you had a great weekend! Those times are really precious. I appreciate the fireman eye candy, too.

The park looked wonderful. I love a waterfall, but there isn't much water in my neck of the woods.

    Have a great week!

Do you think it is a little of "all or nothing girl" still being a problem? For some a goal target date works well because they work better that way, but I think for you and for me it is too much pressure. I know that I do better if I can just take it day by day and try to make good choices each day. If I goof up at one meal, I don't let the rest of the day go, I just do the best that I can for the next meal. I think that you really needed to "let go" because you have been under a lot of pressure, the old adage of "work hard, play hard". Don't beat yourself up about it though, just do your best.
