ok. thanks for the feedback. i truly appreciate it. the overriding concern here is sleep. trust me. i know. i'm the one living without it.
i worked 12 years in dayton oh as a bottled water delivery driver for culligan water (99-11). in june of 2011 i was downsized. only me. they kept on some guys that had been there a year or less. why. company was up for sale and i was making $5 an hour more than the others. $18 hour job gone. 3 weeks vacation gone. 2 weeks sick time gone. medical gone. the new economy. letting me go made the books look good. it happens. 9 months later, hundreds of applications, only 1 job interview. not good. dayton was and is a dying town after GM pulled out. So i took a job with a temp service to work at a Honda plant and hour and a half away. 3 hours round trip. left for work at noon, got home 4 in the morning. got my daughter off to school at 7:30 and crashed for 4 hours and did it all over again. that's life
i'm unskilled. jobs are damn hard to come by in this neck of the woods. Shelly, i'd love to switch shifts but i'm working with people who are full time associates and have been there 15 years and can't get on days. and most jobs around here pay less than $10. i'm making almost $17, though no real benefits. bills have to be paid. the grandparents only live 10 minutes away but they're talkers and it takes a half hour to get out of there.
now the other option i have where i can gain an hour of sleep is to leave sparkpeople. don't really want to do that. i've made some good friends here. and this is therapeutic to me in a way. so y'all are stuck with me for a while longer anyway
so, it is what it is. learn it, like it, live it, love it. that's what i tell my daughter anyway
big day tomorrow. time to hit the rum. yeabuddy
