Spark Solution Challenge – Round 2

Sunday, June 23, 2013

Here we go for round to of the Spark Solution Challenge. I really enjoyed this the first time around, but obviously I didn’t take it as much to heart as I thought. While in the challenge I did well at sticking with it, then a week or so ago I found those pesky bad habits creeping in. We are all human and back slide, but I am excited to get reinvigorated before I can back slide too far. There is so much going on, it is relaxing to open the book and know this is what to do. It is too easy to say “It’s too hot to cook”, or “I’m too tired to cook”. With some prep work today done, it is truly much easier for me to cook at home this week than it would be to drive somewhere and pick up junk food.

I have two definite goals to take out of the next two weeks. I am hoping to really reinforce a schedule that works for me to get my exercise in. The first time around, I was able to embrace exercising in smaller time groups, but I still find myself putting it off without an external motivation. This time I am looking really hard at the choices I make with my time to figure out where I can get more in.

My second one has very little to do with the challenge directly, but in a personal goal of working on opening up better. I am going to blog EVERY day of the challenge.
I don't know that I have anything to offer anyone else, but I gain a lot from reading other's blogs, and want to at least try and give something back. I tend to think I have nothing to offer on a blog, but... we'll see what comes of it.

My son and I do these together (sort of). At 10, he needs more calories than I do, and he is at camp and with other people during the days. Our biggest shared meal times are breakfast and dinner, and he says his favorite part of the challenge is that I eat breakfasts with him. I am looking forward to getting back this time for us at the beginning of the day. Time to read and get ready – the ride’s about to start
