BDS Day 5 and 6 - Eat Slowly and Mindfully - Find a Diet Coach

Once I accept the fact that I have
to eat slowly and notice every bite,
dieting will be easier.

It is amazing how we slip back into old habits. I do need to slow down and savor my food. Getting more practice on this will be good for me.

When I feel like eating quickly, I’m going to:
Remember there is no rush the food is not going anywhere.
To remind myself to eat slowly, I’m going to:
Before I eat take a slow deep breathe and remind myself to really taste the food.

Doing this exercise previously lead me to discover I was eating things I didn't really care for. This was quite a surprise to me as I had thought I liked the food, However when I slowed down and really tasted it, I found there was nothing to savor.

Once I have a diet coach who is
regularly supporting me and helping
me, dieting will be easier.

Finding a coach is challenging, that is why I am so thankful to have you all here at SP.

I read my Advantages Response Card at least twice today.
I read other Response Cards as needed.
I ate slowly, sitting down and noticing every bite.

I gave myself credit when I engaged in helpful dieting behaviors.

    What helps me as well is drinking water before and during my meals. It also comes into play when I seem to be hungry between meals. You to-do list is a great start. Good going! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Good job! I had to make it a habit to "eat with my eyes" before actually eating! LOOK @ what I'm eating. Helped me. And I always, always eat @ the table . . . nowhere else. That way my focus is the food and eating . . . nothing else.
