Lessons from Free Bag Lunch and a Prayer!

Thursday, June 20, 2013

Every Thursday since May 2nd The Ministry I serve in hands out Free bag lunches. I am always amazed at the responses we receive by people. Some of the responses I had the moment someone notices that I am fat. It is like people are not use to seeing fat people as much as they are not use to someone being nice and giving them something without expecting anything from them. My goal with the lunches is for the people to accept them. Guess what that is my goal with me in life that people will accept me freely without always having to prove myself. Maybe you don't know what I mean by that. What I mean is having to prove that there is more to me beyond my fat. I have a sense of humor, I love to laugh. I am also intelligent, and caring. I just wish we could be more gentle with each other. Life is to short so wear a smile today.

Trust is really tough for people. Some people trust far too easily. I see them in my work, people who've gotten used by banks and credit card companies. Developing a good sense of who to trust and who not to trust can be difficult.

emoticon The ministry is really great! Remember, God looks on the heart. It is His opinion of us that counts!

You're a beautiful lady! Don't be afraid to be jovial around people. As you hand them a lunch be sure they feel the love that is within you for them. You can love people through your eyes as you make eye contact with them. Let the love of God that is within you flow freely from you as you interact with them and soon they will see past the wrapper and discover the beauty that lies within.

What a fantastic ministry! The helped probably wonder where you come from as much as you do wonder about them!! Two different worlds ...
I have the same goal you do.. stop looking at the wrapper, enjoy what is inside it! As with food, the wrapper is a necessary part of food, but the true nutritional value is what is INSIDE it!!
