Vanilla Protein Powder

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

So I'm stuck! I'm looking for a good vanilla protein powder, the one I was looking into(Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard, Vanilla Ice Cream) upon further reading of the reviews apparently has a less than pleasing taste.

I've been using either BlueBonnet vanilla, from Yes Organic, or Jay Robb vanilla off and on. I like the Jay Robb but from more reading they don't lean towards the organic side of things...not a huge deal but its also a little pricey. Bluebonnet...I've only used twice both times my smoothie was ENTIRELY too foamy and it seems to suck the flavor out of the smoothie. :(

Any Suggestiions??? Should I stick with a whey protein or is a soy based ok?

I use a vegan based protein shake called "Plant Fusion" it's 150 cal per scoop and 21 grams of protein per serving. Highly rated on amazon. Great stuff . No soy, GF free and amazing taste.

Do you have a local organic market? -like a moms or David's? Sometimes they sell samples, and you try stuff out before making a final decision.

I don't know a whole lot about it, but I recently have started using EAS 100% Whey Protein. (I found it at my local Safeway, and I think I've seen it at Walmart, too!) One serving has 26 grams of protein. There are powders out there with a lot more protein than that, but I don't feel like I need that much. I think the vanilla tastes pretty good. It makes my smoothies taste different (more vanilla-y), but it's really smooth and not foamy. I was pleased with it!
