What do you do when the DSL goes down?

So my DSL has been getting slower and slower...finally called Earthlink and they are sending me a new modem...5-7 days from Friday. Now that I know it's broken it's driving me nuts! Everything loads so slow. I'm supposed to have 1.5 mbps and i have 0.3. The guy at Earthlink didn't believe me at first - but their speed test doesn't lie!
So, I'm living like I have dial up and finding that getting on line is a pain when it's this slow. Pages won't load, youtube is nearly impossible and even webmail takes longer!
gah!
On the other hand, I've been spending some time away from the computer getting other things done and actually going in to stores to buy things. Who knew you could GO to stores and have real live people help you find what you need? LOL

What do you do if you are internetless?

    I get my hubby to call the tech people, he always get results. emoticon When I have no internet or it's slow, I read, or watch DVDs. Good luck, I hope it's resolved soon!

    I have cable and have found that the last few days it has been dragging too. We did get a new modem and that sped it up some but now it seems to be slowing again,.

    I found out over the weekend, my U-Verse was down, and AT&T takes it sweet time about coming out. anyway, I whine alot, and yes, I do get things done, but sure did miss it emoticon

    Notice the rest of the house and suddenly find more time to clean and cook! Remember what it was I wanted to do.

    But for calorie counting, I found "The Pocket Food & Exercise Diary" with the most common food counts in the back, and added my favorites. It is faster to use than computer tracking, and no excuses when my computer crashes, is occupied by other family members, or I'm away from the computer. Speaking of which, I'd better get another one before my next vacation!
