wine on the mind

oh herro!
lol. so, night shift is going good. the only tired time is around 2-3am, but once im over that im good. yesterday took off and did everything myself to get used to the idea of time management and whatnot. made my preceptor very happy lol. he says im ready.

i keep going back and forth over what wine to make next. jon is doing a watermelon peach next. and me, being the autumn obsessed person that i am, i want something cool, something seasonal. then i thought about doing a pumpkin wine. however, i want it to be more like a pumpkin pie flavor, so spiced. easy enough. jon HATES pumpkin tho, so i was like, well, thats a valid point, some ppl dont like pumpkin that much. so, hows about an autumn harvest wine? im thinking half apple, half pumpkin, with vanilla, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. so more like a spiced apple wine. nom!!! i honestly have my heart set on doing both. two small batches, one of each just to see what happens. getting paid this friday so i have a few small pieces of equipment to buy, then just ingredients.

planted my garden about a week ago. speaking of which, three diff pumpkin plants, three diff watermelon plants, and black bell peppers. i have a few of my giant sunflowers peaking up from last year too. i think i will use the fresh pumpkin in the wine too.

lost another 2lbs, so thats a total down of about 8lbs. i already feel better. long road to go still, but im doing fine. i have to keep telling myself, one step at a time, one day at a time, make smart choices, etc. i can do this (again) and i will do it.
however, in the mean time, a bottle of strawberry wine has my name on it, so does some laundry and other chores lol. may goth be with you!

I love making brandy with black berries, never tried to make my own flavored wine! I'll definitely try it!

Nice work on your continued journey. Night shifts have to be flowing pretty well by know. Love the wine making ideas.

Going to throw in my two cents- Love the pumpkin idea if the spices are subtle, and the apple sounds great. Is there a way to do apples, with cinnamon, with a touch of raisin?

OK- maybe I just need to get oatmeal and make my own cookies. emoticon
