Stupid videos, anyway!

Monday, June 17, 2013

I tried to upload a video with sound that I took while we were out hiking yesterday, but for some reason, it won't play. I do have this silent video of the creek and still pics, though, so let's try it again...

I love hiking in the forest as long as we are packing firearms to keep away the scaries like cougar, bear, dog packs, possible wolves (they are in Eastern Oregon and Southern Oregon, though I haven't read of any here in this county, yet) and of course, the 2 legged monsters. I wore the wrong shoes for hiking, though! Normally, while hiking I wear my hiking boots, but apparently I wasn't hiking yesterday and wore my street walking shoes ( emoticon that didn't come out right!) when we went out.

The rounded soles are great for walking or running on level ground. Not so good for hiking.

I won't give a commentary on this, just post the pics as most are self-explanatory.

Little blessings seen along the way...

And little curses (a leopard slug; about 5" long)

I am so lucky to live in this area!

Really pretty and kind of crazy.... it looks so much like the area I walk almost daily here in Connecticut!! except I don't have to worry about the cougars, bears and wolves.... oh my!! emoticon

If you listen with your heart you can hear the little brook babbling along. It reminded me of one we used to play in on my grandparents farm in MA. Thanks for sharing - awesome pictures!

Really beautiful pictures! Your video was nice too, even if it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to. I've never tried uploading a video. The problem with walking or running shoes for hiking is rocks! I've noticed with my shoes my feet get sore quickly from all of the hard things along the way that seem to want to try and poke through the bottom of my shoe. The area I live in looks similar to where you are but we've been warned by the Sheriff's department not to walk in the woods near here because there are so many pot growers, some of them "Mexican Mafia" that will shoot anyone that stumbles into their area on site. I think it's interesting that they'll warn the public instead of taking care of the problem.

I can almost hear the trickly, tickly babbling brook! Blessings and thanks, again, for a great slice of Oregon. JOY emoticon

That slug is mighty UGH-LY!!!!! Love the little blessings, though, isn't life exciting! There's so many little things we just zoon by, though! Great that you got to take some time to enjoy nature in all its wonder! emoticon

Hope the enjoyment outweighed any sore feet from the 'wrong shoes'.
