Day 77 - My Dad

Sunday, June 16, 2013

My Dad is amazing! I wish I could find a way to post his photo from my iPad... I have a photo of him and another guy on the tennis courts. They won the Senior Olympics for doubles and are wearing their gold medals! emoticon

He has always been athletic but he tells me he's been a geeky kind of guy in high school. Back then he was into chess. Then in his early adulthood, he was introduced to playing baseball. I vaguely remember him wearing a uniform.

Eventually, he tried tennis and fell in love! I use to watch him play and I was his little ball girl, running all around the court for the stray balls!

He is 73 and still plays tennis several hours a day! He also coaches tennis!

I hope that when I get to be his age, I will be athletic too! I will be living the retired life and doing lots of athletic things. And I would travel a lot too, just like he and my mom!

I LOVE YOU, DADDY! Yeah, I still call him Daddy! LOL

This morning, I walked 5 miles! Wow! Then my daughter came over to spend time with her daddy. He grilled steaks and sausages! I cooked up a ton of fresh veggies and sprinkled generously with parmesean cheese. It was delish! Then I got my lawn chair in the shade part of the backyard and read all day long! Pure bliss! ...until the battery ran low several hours later. Watered the gardens and went for an evening stroll with my husband - another mile!

I hope everyone had a great Father's Day today!

Deborah, MSW

ps...I'm down 15 pounds as of this morning!

    emoticon on your weight loss!!!

I'm glad that you had a great Father's Day! My dad died the day after his 73rd birthday...while he was walking at the mall for exercise. It's ok to call you father daddy. My daughter calls my hubby daddy too.

I hope that you have a wonderful week!
