Day Five: The Real ME

Friday, June 14, 2013

I noticed many people blog about how thrilled they are that it is Friday. I can relate as I celebrate Friday as well when I am teaching. Summer time is here so I am going to celebrate everyday as though it were Friday.

Now that I think about it, what is so special about Friday? Why is this one day out of seven so fantastic? Perhaps we enjoy our weekends and the opportunities it holds for us. Maybe we are so depressed with our Monday through Friday activities that we yearn for the freedom of the weekend. Possibly, we have been brainwashed to think that the only time we can have fun is during the weekend and Friday is when that entertainment can happen.

Well, I do not want to be a drone and only live for one day of the week. There are six other days that deserve the same enthusiasm as Friday. Look at all the possibilities there are to do good, to have fun, to be an encouragement, to lift spirits, to be a friend in six days of the week.
No longer shall I dread Monday with sadness and despair. NO! It is time to look forward to a new week of opportunities and possibilities.

What if everyone turned their attitude around and decided Friday was just another day of the week and Monday turned out to be the start of something new and exhilarating? Let's turn our mindset around. Miraculous Mondays, Terrific Tuesdays, Whimsical Wednesdays, Thrilling Thursdays, Fabulous Fridays, Spectacular Saturdays, and Sanctifying Sundays. Let's never look at any of our God-given days as anything but positive and worthy of our very best effort.

Who's with me? We can change the world with our optimistic outlook for the present and enjoy what every day has to offer!

I love this and as a teacher I am often a bit depressed to think that Fridays seem to be the only day everyone is excited and enthused about. This suits me and I am going to copy your daily distinctions for my NEXT year calendar for my class. Thanks for sharing this.
