Rough Week

Thursday, June 13, 2013

Last week began like any other. On Tuesday, I received a call from my brother that my Mom had passed away. I don't know what I will do without her, she was my inspiration. She had been out to eat breakfast with my brother, came back home and fixed a pot of brown beans and a pan of cornbread. She was mopping her floor with her new toy, the steam shark, when she had a major heart attack and died before she hit the floor. I am so thankful my Mom did not suffer or was in any pain. She died immediately. I know this may sound like I am heartless, but I work where people are on machines just to keep them alive. To me that is selfish! I am so glad my Mom went quickly. She had no pain nor any suffering. I will miss my Mom very much, but she had a great life. Now above all, she is in Heaven rejoicing with the angels.

I am very sorry and glad you are dealing with her loss so well. You are wise to have such as positive perspective on her death as you do. Our lives are a short stop over for a better life in heaven. She will be reunited with family and friends who have aready gone before. Peace be with you! emoticon emoticon emoticon

WoW!! All I can do is send you a gentle hug and tell you what you already know: lief support is not dignified, nor requested most of the time, so yes, your mom was blessed to make a meal she loved, play with her new toy and BAM!! be in heaven!!

I felt the same way when Dad died from Alzheimers. Everybody else was sobbing, but I was smiling, knowing that the pat three years of caring for him, was extremely painful, he too, was on life support at the end due to moms brainless decision. I was holding him when he took his last breath, knowing it was the beginning of his eternal happy life.

I know your mom is thrilled that she had that great last day here!! I have never heard any patient BEG for life support and prolonging a life that is not happy.

God Bless you and your family!
