Day 9: Exhaustion

Thursday, June 13, 2013

Tonight is our VBS Commencement program at church and the week leading up to it has been nothing short of ah-mazing! We have had 15 children accept Christ as Lord (woot woot!)

Although I've not been able to spend a lot of time in the gym or outside this week due to VBS, I have definitely got my workout. I've been the music leader, so I've sang and danced to the VBS songs from 600-830 each night. I actually woke up this morning with a gruff voice from all the singing. I hope and pray it holds out for the kids programs for their families tonight.

Our church serves complete meals during VBS week. I've not had a chance to actually get to the fellowship hall to eat due to the schedule, BUT I have taken home fresh fruits and veggies each night in a to-go box. I've supplemented with a PB sandwich or a CLIF bar (gosh I love those things!)

Although VBS has been awesome, I am exhausted. Getting up around 5am and then working 8-5, driving straight to VBS (arriving just minutes before show time), dancing/singing for 2.5 hours then a 40 minute drive home where I still need to do some of my wifely duties such as laundry/dishes, etc it makes for a LOOOOOONG day and not enough sleep at night.

I woke this morning to puffy eyes and running behind. ugh. I hurriedly got ready and got to work. A few minutes ago I took a break and walked over to Starbucks for a jolt of energy. The walk over was nice (actually had to take my cardigan off on my way back b/c its warming up out there).
In my rush this morning, I wasn't able to pack a breakfast bar. So I was going to get the Peaches and Cream Muffin along with my Iced Skinny Vanilla Latte, but decided last minute to go with the Blueberry Vanilla & Cashew KIND bar.

Boy, am I glad I changed my mind! I looked up the nutrition facts when I returned so I could track my food -- the muffin had 40 calories and like 19g of fat! emoticon Luckily the KIND bar has held me over and I should be good in time for lunch.

Anyway, here is to a great commencement program tonight and nothing but planned relaxation for the coming weekend!! The Mr is going camping with the guys, so I have the house to myself (plus the little dogs, but I can handle that!)
