Planning for Balance: BLC 22

I am finally getting around to planning my goals for the BLC 22. Part of it is that I procrastinated on making this a priority, the other part is that I have just been too busy. I need to stop using that as an excuse. I have not visited my local gym in over 2 months. 2 MONTHS! That is insane.

Recently, I discovered that I am gluten intolerant so part of my plan will include learning to be healthy on a GF diet.

Weekday walks: I can squeeze a 30 minute walk into my day on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday as part of my lunch schedule. I typically spend this time sipping a smoothie in front of my computer and checking Facebook. I am allotting that time.

Saturday: I am going to return to Zumba class on Saturday mornings. I used to love going to this class but always found excuses that kept me from putting on my tennis shoes and shaking my groove thing. Not anymore, I'm going! Be sure to call me out on it if it looks like I have been avoiding my goal.

Sunday: I am going to return to Yoga class at 9am. This would be a great way to start a relaxing Sunday but also give me the energy to complete the tasks I need without feeling overwhelmed.

Here is the big one. What to eat? Goals?
* I will plan (cook, blend, and bake) my meals on Sunday and be prepared for a week of eating healthy.
* I will use real food (not prepackaged food) in 90% of my meals. So that means that I need to get really creative with the veggies. I have a few interesting ideas pinned on pinterest that will be worth trying.

Plan my week with plenty of time to sit back and relax. When I need to read my homework assignment, I plan to pull a chair up to my big front window, brew a cup of herbal tea, and enjoy a healthy snack while I soak in the knowledge and a bit of sunshine. (It gets a little too hot in STL to spend all those hours outside but I will when it is nice).

I am trying to not be too hard on myself and over plan big goals because life is stressful enough without adding 20 hours of exercise into my schedule.

Ultimately, I want to find balance and reduce my stress. These two things will allow me to be more healthy and happy in my daily life and that is what is really important.
