NEW! And Walking My Way to the First 50 Out of 155

Hey all :)

Im Jes, and just signed up on the add me' cuz my page is lonely!

Anyways, so today I am starting a walking routine that I am hoping sparks a 50 pound weight loss. I used to be a runner, LOVED IT, used to play all kinds of sports, but I know that if I were to run right now, Id get a few blocks down the road with shin splints and wheezy lungs! (sad but true)

Does anyone else walk as their primary means of exercise? What are your walks like?

Has anyone had great success with walking at the start of your weight loss journey??

I will be weight lifting as well. I have the ChaLEAN Extreme weight lifting videos, and have had great results in the past with them.

    Welcome Jess! I walked mostly for the first 6 months of my weight loss journey and it really helped to ramp up to running slowly. I will say that its 80% of what you eat and only 20% exercise that will help you lose weight. good luck on your journey!!

    Hi Jess, I haven't been on here too long either. I do walk as my primary exercise. I have COPD and the doctor wants me to walk as much as I can. I am trying to get back up to my 45 minutes a day. I will do some weights but right now just keeping up with the yard work is hard on me. Good luck with your journey.
