Thought and Prayer for Tuesday, June 11, 2013

Every day, we do things. All day long, we are doing something. The things we do are either productive or unproductive. The things we do are either right or wrong. The things we do are either God’s will or they are not. We need to determine if we are staying in the same place or if we are moving forward by doing what we do. Giving into temptation can lead us to do the things that lead nowhere. We need to identify the unproductive things we do and replace them with doing the right things for God.

2 Peter 1:4 “And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, thank You for your great and precious promises. Guide us through each hour, help us to make the right decisions in all we do and lead us to take the right actions for You. There will be opportunities for us to do good and to help others today. Lead us away from the temptation to do nothing that leads to nowhere. Keep us away from the ways of the world and on track for You, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we do nothing, nothing gets done.

We can’t possibly get everything done in a day. That is why we have a lifetime to do it. But we have to do something daily in order to reach God’s goals for our lives.

Doing something every day that leads to nowhere will lead to a bitter life.

Temptation can take us away from what we should be doing and lead us on a path to nowhere.

When we do things that lead to a dead end road, we can either turn around or just sit there.

We were created by God to do good, to stay busy and to live for Him. He wants us to do things that are productive and right in His eyes..

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (NLT)
