my first sweets break through

Sunday, June 09, 2013

Last night my step- grandma knew my mom and I were both giving up sweets we even told her that neither one of us can eat sweets. We told her we were starting this yesterday. She comes over with coconut cream pie , well my mom and I didn't eat it and left it in the refrigerator. instead we both ate fresh pineapple. what we can't understand is why she is trying to sabotage our efforts and bringing sweets over when we tell her we are not going to eat any it's not good for us at all. neither of us caved and said no to the pie.

I am proud of both you and your mom - that must have been difficult. Don't be too hard on the step-grandmother - sometimes it takes longer for OTHERS to adjust to YOUR changed habits than it does for you. Good for you.

Maybe you can explain to her that she can show you that she cares in other ways besides food. She probably thinks you are depriving yourself or something. Explain to her why you are doing it and that you eat other stuff in place of it now.

Its so frustrating, but sometimes there are people in life who want to sabotage your journey! emoticon on resisting the pie

That is so frustrating! But, you please remember, some people show their love with food and if you suddenly don't want it she may not know how else to show her love... that didn't make much sense but I'm sure you get the gist...

Sometimes in life, we just have sabotagers. For whatever reason they can't seem to accept that you really want to change. Just love them for them and move on.

    I hope that helped? emoticon
