Week 1 Success and it feels good! :)

Week 1 of joining the Spark People community was a success! I am so grateful that my sister told me about this site. I must say getting started was hard as far as temptations went and 5 out of the 7 days I tracked my calories I went over. Sabotage (especially self) is all around. At work I heard (in 1 week) "There's Panera in the break room take whatever you want." "There are sweets left over in the conference room that are up for grabs." "Do you want a donut? Help yourself." I said no to the donut but I can't say the same for the day of Panera and the day of sweets. But, sabotage while at work is a blog for another day lol. What was different about this is that I held myself accountable. I tracked every piece of food that went into my mouth, even the "not so good stuff." When I weighed in this morning I saw a loss of 5 lbs. It was very self-rewarding and today at work when I heard; "There's more Panera in the break room." "Do you want a slice of pizza?" It was much easier to turn these things down after seeing my first week's success. Portion control, saying no to temptation, and holding yourself accountable is all Behavior Management and I just hope to stay on the right path, maintain my focus, continue to couple exercise with a monitored calorie intake, and achieve my goal. Thank you Spark People for the jump start I needed. :)
