Good Morning!!!

Today is going to be a great day. I got a lot accomplished yesterday. In fact I watched some cartoons with my daughter, went shopping (not just grocery shopping) and I did take some much needed me time! emoticon

I have been a spark member for over three years now. I started gaining weight while I was pregnant with my daughter and it has never come off. I am not one of those women that loses weight easily. But I recently sat down and decided that I was done with excuses. And we all have them. You know what I'm talking about: not enough time, too tired, long day and the list goes on and on. It was about a month ago, I was talking with a friend and making my long list of excuses when I realized that I am the ONLY one holding ME back!! Seems obvious right?! And yet we all do it. That's when I decided that:

1. Food is there to nourish me, not there to be completely devoured.
2. My health is more important than snacking, going out to eat, etc.
3. I need to become a better example for my daughter.
4. If others can do it, so can I!!
5. No more EXCUSES!!!

That was the day I decided I'm not making excuses anymore. Either I eat right and exercise or maybe I like being able to whine about my weight. I don't want to feel like hiding in my "fat" clothes anymore and I want to be back to my healthy weight. So I started packing my lunch everyday, I have stocked my fridge with fruits and veggies and cook most of my meals at home each night. And it is starting to work. I'm not able to get in my workouts everyday but I have lost 4 pounds. And that to me is awesome!

On another note, this week my daughter was watching me pack my lunch and she asked if she could pack hers for daycare. I said sure why not? Well for this whole week, she has packed her lunch right along side of me. In her lunch she includes: carrots and a fruit. No junk food! It warms my heart that she is expanding her food groups and eating healthy.

For anyone just starting out, remember it's the little things that make this journey worth while. Even if it's as simple as packing a lunch.

    Packing lunch and appropriate snacks has been my key to sticking with it since I recommitted a couple weeks ago. It's so much easier to avoid evening binging if I've had enough during the day!
