I'm Melting!

Thursday, June 06, 2013

That's what a co-worker told me yesterday. All of a sudden people are noticing I'm smaller than I used to be. It's funny but I think my body has finally decided to let go of the weight and the numbers are consistently moving downward. For a long time it was being very stubborn in spite of my calorie intake and output being essentially the same as now. I do walk for longer periods of time and at a faster pace, but I've been building up to that very gradually. Who knows? I'm just happy that body is cooperating with mind.

I keep reading blogs about people who begin to run. This intrigues me. I never ran, even when I was young. I would run in gym class if whatever we were doing called for it, but I never ran just to run or for the pleasure of it. I'm pondering throwing in a few running steps here and there just to see how it goes. My stamina pretty much sucks and I would really like to improve my staying power. I'll keep exploring and thinking and maybe one day I'll just do it. Like Nike says...

It's an awesome high when people actually start to notice and you feel like all of your hard work and effort is finally paying off!!
Go ahead.... try the running if your mind is nudging you in that direction. I have had the same feeling and when I am on my walks I through in some running in between. That may also trick your body a little more a far as mixing up your exercise. Just listen to your body it; it will tell you when you've gone far enough and you will be able to increase your distance at your own pace, just like your walking.
    Congratulations!! Great job!! emoticon emoticon
