BLC Day 1!

Wednesday, June 05, 2013 goes nothing!! :-) I weighed in today at 228.8, which is lower than my ending weight at BLC21. So that is good news! I'm excited to be in the 220's, which I feel as though I haven't seen in ages! I gave myself a goal of 18 pounds over the next 12 weeks - which would be 7.5% of my body weight. I thought that would be reasonable for me to achieve.

I am taking the challenge of 300 fitness minutes this week. My life is finally slowing down to the point that I am going to be able to fit that in! Yay!

One of the things I am struggling with is the nutrition tracker. I'm logging food, and picking things out of the list that sound like what I ate, but the calories are WAY higher than what I'm actually eating. This is going to take some adjustment and a way to figure out how to get it in the accurately. The last two days it's putting me over 2,000 calories a day!!! I know that I did NOT eat that much a day! (I track on paper at home.) But, it's something I am going to work on. Maybe get some of my favorite foods logged in in total so I have it in there!

Anyway, it's off to a great start!! I'm rarin' to go!! :-) Progress is awesome because it just propels you forward! :-)

Have a super Thursday!!

Yes. Do figure out how to enter your own nutrition information and make sure you have the right values. It is important. emoticon

Nice attainable challenge goals! Taking the time to enter things you normally eat in the food tracker is well worth the time! Then it's just a matter of sifting through your favorites! Makes things much less daunting and give you an accurate Calories in! Maybe taking some time to do that would help you feel more in control and better informed!

Can't wait to see that 7.5% become reality!

    Go get 'em! emoticon

emoticon on your weight loss and good luck on your upcoming Challenge and 7.5% goal . When I belonged to W.W. I always felt like such a failure because they recommend starting with 10% of you current wt. as your weight loss goal. That was just to high an aim for me. So when I started the 5% Challenge here on SP I was nervous about setting an pound amount ( I usually am just happy losing weight not matter how much ). As it turned out this 5% has been the magic number and very doable for me.

I'm with ya on that Nutrition Tracker ! I did the same thing you have and used the Spark recommended meals as a guide, but their calories frequently didn't match the nutrition info I had. For example they would say low fat yogurt was 90 cals. and mine would say 110 cals. So I have individually entered a lot of the food items I eat into my favorites. It does take time at first, but makes it much easier in the long run.

If you are making it from a recipe and know your calories you can add in your own items or you can input your own recipes. If it is any other item that is boxed, canned, etc. you can put those calories in also. When you are on tracker and are in the "search" mode there is a link, I think in red to the right and says something like track item not found. Let me know if you have any other questions.
