Sick of being Sick!!!!

Seriously, I'm usually the person who goes to the doc once a year for a physical and always has healthy... well... everything!

This year I swear I'm falling apart! I have had shingles, a sinus infection, strep... and now I have strep AGAIN! Who the "H" gets strep in the onset of summer!?!

I really didn't want to use my time off today and there's a million things I could be doing but it seems like laying on the couch all day long is my destiny for the time being. I guess it's just time for a break.

Laundry will just have to wait and the kitchen is a disaster but I guess those dishes aren't going anywhere either.

I have found my breaking point, people! Not the point where I give up - but the point where my body says enough is ENOUGH!!! I am going to have to invest more time in myself. I don't think I have an option but to move some quiet time to the front burner.

After this weekend (rehearsal/rehearsal dinner, wedding, graduation, MIL's birthday dinner) and spending 3 days on the road (literally). A few more hours of rest and I'll get a healthy dinner going before I have to pick up the little one.

I don't like that I'm sick but I definitely needed this day if rest!!

    A friend and I were just discussing this week how we had both been sick more this past year than we could remember being in recent memory. And we have both been losing weight. Then I remembered that I had read a theory that when our fat cells release their water that it also releases those toxins they'd been holding when those fat cells were formed. Not usually a big deal unless you lose a lot of weight (which we have been doing for, um, the past year!!!) The extra strain on the body makes it more susceptible to illness while we transform (and as far as our body is concerned, makes us more likely to give up this new lifestyle that our body gravitates away from.)
    Idk if that's a good theory or not, but it makes sense on the surface. I think we can learn from bouts of sickness too, to listen to our body but still push a little more gently through to the other side. To let the dishes and laundry go without guilt - buy some paper plates for just this week or let the hubby do it (he can play Karate Kid 'wash on, rinse off')
    Either way, do take care of yourself but keep your heart set on your future goals. When you recover then you'll be mentally prepared to get back into the game.

    Sometimes I tell people that I'm sick too when I just want to lay around all day :)
