Sunday June 2

Sunday, June 02, 2013

Way past my bedtime and I kept channel surfing just hoping to find something interesting..not...still up so recounting my day. I dropped the lambs milk to just the evening feed with a big container of lamb feed and fresh water available...they were not amused. I let everybody out after breakfast and freshened all the water troughs.
Back at the house I gathered more roses for the vase and started cooking a small lamb roast which I simmered in coffee, two full cloves of garlic, rosemary and thyme sprigs from the greenhouse. It turned out very tender, tasty and just the right amount for the two of us. We had corn and basil seasoned greenbeans in the fridge along with both tossed and fruit salads. I set our plates on colorfull mats on the dining room table and the flowers made a lovely centerpiece. Mom enjoyed the visit.
Tonight the lambs were delighted with their one bottle of milk each. The ability to feed three vigorous lambs at the same time is surely a marketable skill somewhere...lol...esp when they don't all finish at the same time. Everybody is fed, watered and safely sheltered and tomorrow is just around the corner.

Yes, that is a marketable skill...it's called being a mom of multiple children. It was also supposed to be an Industrial Technologist ..LOL??

That lamb roast sounds wonderful!!!!!!! And I thought i was doing good using coffee with nonfat yogurt.....your diet sounds much better than mine, wanna trade? :) Ever try lamb choley? Thank you for reminding me...lamb is the meat that can make an excellent substitute for veal! One dish I cook uses a special cut of veal...and the butcher told me to give three days notice when I wanted any in the future.. No thank you, but if you have any other orders, give me a call?

Oh the smell of the roses and the meal.....nice.

Wonder if the lambs thought you were a traitor, cutting down the bottles..... :) Do they look at you like puppies do if you don't have a treat for them?

What a fun life you have!!! Glad you shared :) I'm a city girl so while you were feeding the lambs I was probably feeding my sisters new kitten, or more likely play kitten and mouse with him :)

The only thing is your dinner sounds so much more tasty than mine... we're having spaghetti, in front of the tv lol...

Thanks for blogging... Cheers to tomorrow being a great day for you and I!!!
