Go the DISTANCE 2013 Report # 2

Sunday, June 02, 2013

I have to start this blog by a HUGE emoticon to the Go the DISTANCE TEAM!!!
You are moving and keeping me Motivated...

I like tracking my distance and since I started doing so in 2011, I am always surprised how far I went when I sit down to write this report!

I usually write a monthly report, but work as kept me so busy that I had to tackle priorities first and some of the things I like to do just got push to the right (as we say ....)

Here are my Go the DISTANCE Stats! :

- Last Report (15 March 2013): 290 km/180 miles total for the year

- As of 15 April (I posted on our Team Tracker!!!) : 485/300 miles total for the year
emoticon that was a good month, 195 km/120 miles !!!
I went back to following a running training plan (running and spinning) after recovering from my Winter race in Feb and I wanted to build my speed and strength for the Canadian Forces Running Championships coming end of May.
The weather being nicer, I was outside walking a lot more!

- As of 31 May 2013, my new total for 2013: 830km/519 miles!!! emoticon
That is 345 km/215 miles for that reporting period (45 days)!

I went back to check my stats same time last year (2012) and I am so happy with my progress!!!
Last year I was at 750km/466 miles as of 31 May 2012!

Last May, what I enjoyed the most of my GO the DISTANCE was:
- getting back on my bike on the weekend...
- going for "daily" walk... and I particularly enjoy the longer ones at the lake...

Here with my daughter Emma during her last visit (long weekend)...
- and completing two 10km races (report will follow soon...)

My goal for June is to emoticon ... no number, I just want to keep going...

Well, sorry (LOL) that is a lie! emoticon

I will be leading my team next weekend for the Relay for Life. We have been raising $ for the Canadian Cancer Society and the event will take place in my community on the 7 June. The take off is at 7Pm and we keep it moving for 12 hours up to the next morning at 7AM. I will be on the track with my daughter Maggie and I want to stay on my feet all night. I am very happy to do this; as I am a cancer survivor, it is my way to put $ in the "bank" to fight back against a sickness that affect so many.
So, my goal for this event is to individually cover 75km in 12 hours (jog/walk)... with very short break, I can do this!

Go GO go... GO the DISTANCE!
What is your goal for June?
