A Fun Day With DH and Sharing Some Photos

Saturday, June 01, 2013

We took a trip to the mountains for our first serious hike yesterday. I was sure I would have leg cramps last night. I usually do after the first hike but thanks to the exercise I have been getting that was not the case! WooHoo! We decided to explore some new areas at a higher elevation. We were a amazed to find a campground with several people there. I don't think we will be hauling our travel trailer that far up that gravel road. We hiked till we started finding snow drifts that hadn't melted and it was getting pretty chilly so we turned around & headed for lower ground. I carried the camera in my pack and only took one picture. Just didn't think about it. We saw several deer, chipmunks, squirrels, lots of birds and either a very healthy, large coyote or a wolf. He didn't hang around but didn't seem too afraid of us either. We watched him trot slowly away through the trees.

This first picture is the only one I took yesterday. Nothing spectacular just the snow at the top of a ridge taken through some trees. The others are of my pretty iris blooming.

Thanks for sharing! These flowers are absolutely beautiful! I love the thought of hiking but there is no place nearby that I could just do it. It would require a little more planning and travel time. Definitely an activity that I love! Glad to hear that you were able to do it without the cramps!

The iris are BEAUTIFUL! My mom is an iris lover and has several varieties. Mine did not bloom this year, what with the warm then snow and then cold and then warm again.

I LOVE iris! To this day, when I smell one, it takes me back to grade school because Mom use to send a fresh cut Iris with me to give to my teacher. Yours are beautiful!
