Breezy, cloudy, humid day. Everything has gone well. The commercial mower is running after the winter spell. One lone guinea complained til I dug out his feeder and replaced it...where I had mowed. The lambs are tucked safely in a stall with enough feed for an elephant and ponies are all turned out. The flock is down front most of the day and then lounging on the west. I was happily zipping off grass and weeds that would have taken me much time and effort with the walk behind mower around McGreggor's Garden and in the front yard. The cutting of the parkway was going well til I got a bit gallant and ran into a clump of weeds that shut down my operation. Off and on the seat, pulling weeds from underneath and checking everything in sight. I tried starting it without success...and tried again...a flash of fire out the exhaust pipe...not good...this is how grass fires get started...so I wait and let it cool and start again...eventually like a well behaved mower it starts again and I mow a bit more gingerly...well it appears a storm is forming...time to go let animals in.
